TRANSPORTATION
In addition to the websites mentioned above, click on www.supershuttle.com for reliable, reasonable ground transportation to and from the airports. San Francisco is served by all major airlines and has three major airports.

  • From San Francisco International Airport, The Fairmont and Intercontinental are a 35-45 minute ride. Taxi fare is approximately $40 one way.

  • From Oakland International Airport, The Fairmont and Intercontinental are a 35-45 minute ride. Taxi fare is approximately $60 one way.

  • From San Jose International Airport, The Fairmont and Intercontinental are a 60 minute ride. Taxi fare is approximately $150 one way.

Tips and tolls are extra and taxis are available 24 hours a day from uniformed taxi dispatches at all the airports.

BANKING/POST OFFICES
Banks, cash points, exchanges offices and post offices are available in the vicinity of the hotels, and are usually open daily 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and Saturday mornings. You can also use your credit or debit card at any ATM to get US dollars. Your bank account will be automatically debited in the currency of your account. The hotels can also exchange monies and post mail.

Electricity used in the United States is 110 volts.

TIPPING
It is customary to tip hotel porters $1 per bag, taxi drivers 15% of total fare, and waitstaff at restaurants 15-20% of your check.
